The specifications for your system are here and show that you have two slots for DDR4 memory.

  • 16 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 8 GB)

  • 8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (1 x 8 GB)

  • 8 GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM (2 x 4 GB)

If you have one stick of 8gb best is to add one exactly with same part number

An easy way to find what memory you have is to run the wmic app from the windows command prompt. Bring up the window 'cmd' prompt and enter

wmic memorychip get devicelocator, capacity, speed, MemoryType, formfactor, partnumber, manufacturer

Should look something like the following. To purchase identical memory search for the part number shown and look for the letters 'HP' on any label attached to the memory stick.
