Hi @DERONE2012,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused don’t worry let me help you.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

Are you using Windows, and do you see the “Multimedia Audio Controller” listed with a yellow exclamation mark in Device Manager? That detail will help us pinpoint whether this is a driver issue or a hardware conflict.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try right away:

  • Check Device Manager
    • Press Windows + R, type devmgmt.msc, and press Enter.
    • Look under Sound, video and game controllers. If you see “Multimedia Audio Controller” with a warning icon, it means the driver isn’t installed correctly.
  • Install the Correct Drivers
    • Use the installation CD/DVD that came with your PCI/PCIe sound card, or download the latest drivers from the HP website https://support.hp.com/in-en/drivers
    • Make sure you’re installing the driver that matches your version of Windows (32‑bit or 64‑bit).
  • Set Default Playback Device
    • Right‑click the speaker icon in the taskbar → Sounds → Playback tab.
    • Ensure your new sound card is selected as the default device.
  • Windows Update
    • Sometimes Windows can automatically detect and install missing drivers. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates.
  • Reseat the Card
  • If drivers don’t solve it, power down your PC, remove the card, and carefully reseat it in the slot to ensure proper connection.

If these steps don’t resolve the issue, we may need to confirm whether the card is compatible with your system or if there’s a conflict with onboard audio

I hope this helps.
