Hi @Nazaroonie,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus 16.1 laptop is experiencing issues where it won't power on and the power button light blinks, it could indicate a hardware or power-related issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.

Power Reset:

  • Disconnect the laptop from any power source.
  • Remove the battery if it's removable.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on again.

Check the Power Adapter:

  • Ensure the power adapter is working properly. Try using a different compatible power adapter if possible.
  • Check the power cable for any damage.

Inspect the Battery:

  • If the battery is removable, try removing it and turning on the laptop with just the power adapter connected.
  • If the laptop powers on without the battery, the battery might be the issue.

Check for Loose Connections:

  • Open the back cover of the laptop (if you're comfortable doing so) and check for any loose connections, particularly the battery and power connections.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
  • Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
  • Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on.

BIOS Reset:

  • Sometimes, resetting the BIOS can help resolve power issues. To do this, you may need to access the internal battery (CMOS battery) and remove it briefly.

Check for Error Codes:

  • The blinking power button light might be an error code. Count the number of blinks and see if it corresponds to any error codes in the HP support documentation.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
