Hi @Nazaroonie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP Victus 16.1 laptop is experiencing issues where it won't power on and the power button light blinks, it could indicate a hardware or power-related issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
Power Reset:
- Disconnect the laptop from any power source.
- Remove the battery if it's removable.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on again.
Check the Power Adapter:
- Ensure the power adapter is working properly. Try using a different compatible power adapter if possible.
- Check the power cable for any damage.
Inspect the Battery:
- If the battery is removable, try removing it and turning on the laptop with just the power adapter connected.
- If the laptop powers on without the battery, the battery might be the issue.
Check for Loose Connections:
- Open the back cover of the laptop (if you're comfortable doing so) and check for any loose connections, particularly the battery and power connections.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery.
- Hold the power button for 30 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, then try turning the laptop on.
BIOS Reset:
- Sometimes, resetting the BIOS can help resolve power issues. To do this, you may need to access the internal battery (CMOS battery) and remove it briefly.
Check for Error Codes:
- The blinking power button light might be an error code. Count the number of blinks and see if it corresponds to any error codes in the HP support documentation.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
