@Tatu271, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding black screen issue!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It seems that your PC is experiencing issues after a driver update, resulting in a black screen with a loading cursor. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this issue:
Restart Your Computer
- Force Shut Down: Press and hold the power button for about 10 seconds until the computer shuts off.
- Restart: Wait a few moments and then press the power button again to turn it on.
Boot into Safe Mode
- Restart Your PC: While the PC is restarting, press the F8 key multiple times (before the Windows logo appears).
- Advanced Boot Options: This should bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu. Use the arrow keys to select Safe Mode and press Enter.
Roll Back Driver
- Device Manager: Once in Safe Mode, press Windows + X, and select Device Manager.
- Locate Problematic Driver: Find the driver that you recently updated under the appropriate category (e.g., Display adapters, Network adapters).
- Roll Back: Right-click on the driver, select Properties, go to the Driver tab, and click on Roll Back Driver.
Update Driver Manually
If rolling back the driver does not help, you might want to download and install the latest driver from your device manufacturer's website:
- Find Latest Driver: Visit the manufacturer's website and locate the support section to find the latest drivers for your hardware.
- Download and Install: Download the appropriate driver and install it manually.
System Restore
If the System Restore feature is enabled on your PC, you can revert the system to a previous state before the driver update:
- Control Panel: Go to Control Panel, select System and Security, then System, and click on System Protection.
- System Restore: Click on System Restore, follow the prompts, and choose a restore point before the driver update.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
