Okay so basically my problem with my computer is that it’s constantly at 100% disk usage constantly. I currently am moving and my desktop is in the back of some truck getting sent to my new house so I have been playing on a laptop I got about a year ago on February 10 at about 9:30 pm. I have used it on and off but mostly on vacation or when I am upgrading my desktop etc. And today I got on it and saw it at 100% disk usage I thought no big deal I disabled all anti virus disk cleanup deleted some games canceled everything out in task manager that I could. But it was still at 100% disk usage. If any of the wonderful people at HP could help you would be a life saver because I dabble in “professional gaming” and the r6 challenger leauge has been delayed just a little bit longer and so if I could get this fixed before then that would be great thank you.

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, there's an issue with the 100% disk usage.

Appreciate you trying the troubleshooting steps. Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try these steps -

Step 1 End the task -

1) Press Ctrl + Alt + Del keys at the same time to bring up Task Manager.
2) Select Task Manager > Check and select programs that are taking high memory and CPU usage > Click End Task to close selected programs or apps.

Step 2 Scan for Hardware changes -

Open ‘Device manager’ and ‘Scan for hardware changes.’

Step 3 Configure the PC for best performance -

1) Right click on “Computer” icon and select “Properties.”
2) Select “Advanced System settings.”
3) Go to the “System properties.”
4) Select “Settings”
5) Choose “Adjust for best performance” and “Apply.”
6) Click “OK” and Restart your computer.

Step 4 Disable Startup -

1) Press Windows + R key together.
2) Type ‘
msconfig’ and press enter
3) The Task manager window will open. Click on the “Startup” tab, and you will see a list of programs that run at startup.
4) Right-click on the applications that you don’t want to run at startup and select “Disable”.

You may also refer to this document for further steps.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.
