HP Notebook 14-df0023cl
Microsoft Windows 10 in S Mode

Can I put an 8gb 2666mhz ram on my system.

Also can I hv a 4gb 2400mhz and an 8gb 2666mhz ram on my motherboard without any complications.

And since I plan on later upgrading, can I hv two 8gb 2666mhz on my motherboard or the highest speed of ram my system supports.

My system is HP 14-df0023cl with an Intel core i3-8130u CPU.

Pls help, thanks.

Hi:

Yes, you can install compatible DDR4-2666 MHz memory alongside your DDR4-2400 memory but it will only run at 2400 MHz because that is the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at.

So even if you install 2 x 2666 MHz memory, or 3200 memory, it will only run at 2400 MHz.
