omen 15-dc0009nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm supposed to have 2 zones lighting keybord on my recently bought omen by hp 15-dc0009nf.

But the option is missing in my command center, there's no lighting option at all.

I already tried bunch of updates and downloaded the package found at my dedicated drivers page on HP website.

Talked yesterday with one employee from HP, he told me to "unlock my processor to be able to change lighting option" but i need to be careful, because if I do it badly my warranty can be void.

Is this the solution, unlocking my processor ? Why am I supposed to do weird things to be able to use one **bleep**ing native function supposed to come with my computer ?

How can I do this safely ?

Thank you.

Are you sure this was an official HP tech?

NO, you do not and cannot unlock the processor.

2-zone keyboards dont have a lighting option in the Omen Command Center. That's why there is no option showing lighting options. The keyboard will only have red back lighting and there is no update to change that.

Yes. I'm sure about it. I took some screenshoots

So what does it mean when they say "2-zones keyboard" I thought, like the 4-zones does, I can change the color of 2 specific area.

Thank for your contribution.

The naming scheme is a little confusing, I will agree.

2-zone keyboards only have one color. Red with off-colored WASD keys.

I wish it were changeable  like the 4-zone.

Could you show me the link you used for contacting HP Support? Or how you accessed this support chat?
