Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi guys, I've got 2 questions about 15-cx0160TX model.

1. What is the backlit colour of keyboard? Is it white or green?

2. Does it have M.2 Nvme slot on board?

Thank you in advance for your precious answers!

Cheers.

Digging deep into some info I can find, that series could have either green, white or violet backlighting.

Your model shows that it comes with ghost white according to HP documents.

It comes with an m.2 sata/NVMe ssd slot. It will use either type.

I would save my money and use a sata m.2 drive. You wont see a physical difference in speed.

Also the NVMe will only run at half speed because its sharing lanes with sata.

Here is the manual, page 2 and page 45...

Thank you for your answer.

If you don't mind I'd like to ask few more questions.

1. I can't find any information about backlit colour or m.2 slot compatibility in the manual you've given. I've checked page 2 and 45 but there was no such informations. Can you please give me the other information that I can refer to?

(so sorry to annoy you but I really hate green or purple backlit colour... I am thinking to buy this model but I want to make sure it has white backlit)

2. I have read the manual carefully but I can't find this particular model supports M.2 SATA3 and NVME both. It only shows there are 3 different SSD depending on model which are 256GB/PCIe, 128GB/PCIe and 128GB/SATA-3(page 45)

In addition, it doens't show whether this PCIe is 2.0 or 3.0 or x2 or x4.......

I was thinking it might be PCIe x2 because you said NVME will run half speed but I can't understand why it does.

If you are able to find out can you please let me know which form factor exactly this particular model has?

By the way, I did really appreciate your answer.

Thank you.

I can't find any information about backlit colour or m.2 slot compatibility in the manual you've given. I've checked page 2 and 45 but there was no such informations.

It clearly states that it utilizes an NVMe/Sata M.2 stot.  It also shows what M.2 drives the series can potentially come with.

The manuall shows how to access the slot also.

Your model does not come with and SSD. You will have to add it yourself...

Specs.... https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-15-cx0000-laptop-pc/20284020/model/22910179/...

When an M.2 slot can use either type of SSD, it means its wired for both. The fact that its also wired for Sata mean it takes away from some of the PCI lanes and thus NVMe will only run at X2 speed. You can look it up on Wikipedia.

The documentation that tells me your keyboard color is Ghost White is from HP documentation I can not point you too as the site is classified to HP. I was simply repeating what it said. I have no reason to lie to you. I cannot do anymore for you on the subject.

If you're goal is to install an SSD and you dont know how to do it, I highly suggest you have someone else do it like a repair shop.
