Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-e0000 (2V8Z6AV)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I woke up and turned on the laptop, at first there was a black screen, I turned off the laptop and turned it on again, a message popped up about restoring the BIOS and connecting a USB drive, I downloaded the BIOS from the official site and then threw it onto the flash drive. I connected the flash drive to the laptop and turned it on, the BIOS update began, but on 64 it just froze and did not respond.unnamed (1).jpgunnamed.jpg

Hi @Saturnluck

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like you're facing a challenging BIOS recovery issue. Let’s work through the steps to resolve this:

Verify the Correct BIOS File:

  • Ensure you’ve downloaded the exact BIOS file for your laptop model from the HP Support website.
  • Double-check the model number and operating system version to avoid compatibility issues.

Create a Proper BIOS Recovery USB:

  • Use the HP BIOS Update Utility to create a recovery USB drive.
  • Insert a USB flash drive (at least 8GB) into another computer, run the downloaded BIOS file, and follow the prompts to create the recovery drive.

Perform the BIOS Recovery:

  • Insert the recovery USB into your laptop.
  • Power off the laptop completely.
  • Press and hold the Windows + B keys (or Windows + V on some models), then press and hold the power button for 2-3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but keep holding the keys until the BIOS recovery screen appears. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Check for Corrupted Files:

  • If the recovery still fails, reformat the USB drive to FAT32 and recreate the recovery drive.
  • Ensure the USB drive is not damaged or corrupted.
