Hp Omen 17 cb0707n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I'm referring to this article: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00007682

I have an HP Omen  17 cb0707n. I wanted to update my BIOS (it's currently v. F 16 ) . I've read that in order to update my BIOS I'll need to disable my drive encryption. Apparently windows 10 home doesn't support drive encryption, is that true?

In this article it's also said that I'll need to turn off my antivirus software. I have MacAfee. Do I need to turn off MacAfee and windows defender? Or do I need to disable only MacAfee? How does this work?

Thanks for your help!

@lolliminator

Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Are you referring to the Bit lock encryption? If yes then that's correct it's only for Windows 10 Pro and above.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
