OMEN by HP - 15-ce011nc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello, I've got this issue recently and I am really frustrated by it.

I have like 6 months old OMEN laptop and recently some of my keyboard keys stopped working. First it was only backspace button and it worked again when I pressed it multiple times. Now it is backspace, start menu button and delete button and also OMEN Command center button. They are sometimes working but sometimes they just don't. Also if one of them doesn´t work none of them doesn't work. When I tried to use external keyboard for a while I didn´t get any of those issues.

I already tried reinstalling Windows and reinstalling keyboard drivers, cleaning the keyboard with compressed air, performing hard reset to re-establish software connections between BIOS and hardware. I also tried using keyboard in windows recovery mode in command line and I didn't have any issues with it but it I was probably just lucky.

Any ideas what to do in order to fix my keyboard?

@DexDave

Welcome to HP forums, I see that some of the keyboard keys stopped working.

  • Did you check if the issue persists on command prompt also?

Meanwhile:

Run a interactive keyboard test:

This interactive test checks the keyboard. This test requires a keyboard.

To run the test, click Component test and click Keyboard, and then click Run once

The Keyboard Test time is 3 minutes.

Refer this HP document for more steps:- Click here

Let me know how it goes.

To thank me for my efforts to help you, please mark my post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Cheers.
