@Sharath__, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Fixing Fast Battery Drain on OMEN 16 Gaming Laptop after Windows Update!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your OMEN 16 gaming laptop's battery is draining too quickly after a recent Windows update, here are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

1. Update Battery Drivers

Ensure you have the latest drivers for your battery and power management:

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Expand the Batteries section.
  3. Right-click Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery and select Update driver.

2. Adjust Power Settings

Set your laptop to a power-saving mode:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to System > Power & sleep.
  3. Under Power mode, select Best battery life.

3. Disable Background Apps

Reduce the number of apps running in the background:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Go to Privacy.
  3. Click on Background apps.
  4. Disable unnecessary apps.

4. Check Battery Health

Even though diagnostics say your battery is normal, manually check for detailed battery health:

  1. Open Command Prompt as an administrator.
  2. Type powercfg /batteryreport and press Enter.
  3. Open the generated battery report for insights into battery usage.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
