Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

Hello HP Team,

I’m a student, and I purchased my Victus by HP 15.6-inch (15-fb0000) laptop on 31st August 2024 for around ₹70,000. Within just a year, the battery has completely failed and is not charging at all now.

Initially, the problem started when the red charging light blinked below 15%, showing the charging symbol but not increasing in percentage. After shutting down and holding the power button for a few seconds, it would temporarily show 100%, but the charge would drop very fast.

Now, the situation has worsened — the laptop doesn’t charge at all, and the HP Support Assistant diagnostic shows “Primary Battery: Replace”. I have already raised a case (Case ID: 5148562833) and submitted the required details.

This is extremely disappointing for a laptop that cost nearly ₹70,000 and is barely a year old. As a student, it’s really hard to afford a replacement for such an expensive device part so soon. This clearly indicates premature battery failure, not misuse.

I expect HP to address this issue seriously and provide a proper resolution, as the product’s reliability has completely failed within a year.
