I have an OMEN Gaming Laptop 16-xf0087nr (7M3S5UA). About a week ago I noticed that my laptop wouldn’t not turn on unless I had the laptop plugged in. On the hp battery diagnostic said there was something wrong with it so I opened the back panel and the connector was fried. The motherboard part looked fine and I went to Bestbuy as well as Batteries Plus and both guys told me that it should be fine if i just get a new battery. So I ordered it and I just plugged it in but that didn’t work. The computer diagnostic says there’s no battery plugged in. Now when i turn on my computer (when it’s plugged in of course) it says there’s something wrong with the fans and that i should keep it off. Don’t know what to do know because im in college and this laptop is the only thing I have. don’t really have the money to buy a new one or extend my warranty.

Hi @Deeto1220,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Could you confirm whether the new battery you purchased was an HP genuine replacement or a third-party battery? That detail will help us determine if compatibility may be part of the issue.

If the connector itself is damaged, the battery may not be detected even if the motherboard looks fine. In that case, a service repair might be necessary

I hope this helps.
