Hello! I just bought an external monitor for my laptop. The screen is 1920x1080 170hz and I would like to get that resolution on it. Now I'm wondering what port to use to get this. The screen has an HDMI 1.4b port and a Display port 1.2a. I was thinking of buying a Mini Displayport to Displayport 1.2 as it would provide 1080p at 170hz. But in the specification of my computer (en1035no) it is not specified which type the Mini Display port has. Only that USB C supports Dp 1.4 and HDMI has 2.1.
What is the type of the Mini Displayport on my computer and are there any other solutions to get the highest resolution?

The miniDisplay port is 1.4.

Your screen only has 1920x1080, you can NOT get over that. You should be able to get 120Hz, may be more. Please read

But if the mini displayport is 1.4 I should be able to get 1920x1080 @170 hz with a cable "Mini Displayport to Displayport 1.4" on the external monitor, right?
Sorry I did not mean higher resolution on the external monitor. I meant what options do I have that supports 1920x1080 @ 170Hz.
