Hi @Abednigo1994,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear that your HP 14-dq0051dx is having a BIOS corruption issue.

Recovering a corrupted BIOS on your HP 14-dq0051dx typically involves triggering the laptop’s built-in emergency recovery partition or using an external recovery USB. You can often fix this issue by using HP's key combination (Windows + B) to restore the firmware.

Method 1: The Built-In Key Combination (Easiest):

Many HP laptops store a backup of the BIOS on your hard drive. Try this first:

  1. Turn off your HP 14-dq0051dx completely.

  2. Plug the laptop into a wall outlet using the AC adapter.

  3. Press and hold the Windows key and the B key at the same time.

  4. While still holding those keys, press and hold the Power button for about 2 to 3 seconds.

  5. Release the Power button, but keep holding the Windows + B keys until you hear beeping or see the BIOS update screen appear.

  6. If a blank screen persists for 30–60 seconds, do not panic; it is quietly reflashing.

Note: If the Windows + B combination does not work, repeat the steps substituting the Windows key and B keys for the Windows and V keys.

Method 2: Create a Recovery USB (If Method 1 Fails):

If the built-in backup is also corrupted, you will need a separate, working Windows PC and a USB flash drive to create an external recovery drive.

  1. Insert a blank USB flash drive into a working PC.

  2. Visit the Official HP® Support and enter your 14-dq0051dx model number to find your BIOS drivers.

  3. Download the latest HP BIOS Update utility (.exe file).

  4. Run the installer and choose the option to "Create Recovery USB Flash Drive". Select your USB drive and wait for the wizard to complete.

  5. Take the USB drive to your corrupted HP 14-dq0051dx and plug it in while it is powered off.

  6. Perform the Windows + B (or Windows + V) + Power button combination outlined in Method 1. The laptop will read the USB and flash the good BIOS.

I hope this will help.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
