OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1096ng

Hello HP-Support,

I`m currentliy trying to update the bios for my HP Omen Laptop OMEN Laptop.

don`t start the software for updating the bios. I´ve tried it under Windows 10 and 11 and on 2 different systems, but the installation software won`t start.

Please check all the bios files and fix this issue.

I would like to install the version F.43 Rev.A. So please fix this version too.

Thanks and regards,

Christian

Hi @chris2812, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the BIOS update file does not launch on your OMEN Laptop - 15-dh1096ng, try the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Run as Administrator

  • Right-click the BIOS update file (.exe) and select "Run as Administrator."
  • If nothing happens, check Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) to see if the process is running in the background.

2. Check for Corrupt Download

  • Delete the downloaded BIOS file.
  • Re-download it from the official HP link:
    BIOS F.43 Rev.A for OMEN 15-dh1000 series
  • Ensure the file is not blocked:
    • Right-click the downloaded file → PropertiesUnblock (if available).

3. Disable Security Software

  • Temporarily disable antivirus or security software (e.g., Windows Defender, McAfee) as they might block execution.

4. Use HP BIOS Update Tool

  • Press Windows + R, type hpqflash, and press Enter.
  • If HP BIOS Update launches, use it to update your BIOS.

5. Manually Update BIOS Using USB

If the installer still doesn't start, try a manual update:

Create a BIOS Recovery USB Drive

  • Download the BIOS file and run it.
  • If an "Extract" option appears, extract it to a known location.
  • Look for a .bin or .fd file (BIOS update file).
  • Copy it to a USB formatted as FAT32.

Perform BIOS Update

  • Power off the laptop.
  • Hold Win + B and press the Power Button for 3-5 seconds.
  • Release the Power Button, but continue holding Win + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.
  • Follow on-screen instructions.

6. Check HP Support Assistant

  • Install HP Support Assistant from here.
  • Open it and check for any BIOS updates.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Max3Aj,

thanks for the reply

1. allready tried but didn't help

2. obviously the file is corrupt, but you (HP) need to fix it! Otherwise I didn't have the Problem which I'va allredy posted.

3. didn' help

4. didn't work

5. I can't create a bios usb stick without opening the software what brings us back to the main problem!

Anyways I've tried to run a bios recovery via Win + B but only get a black.

6. This one is working but didn't solve my problem, because I want da downgrade to bios F.43 because the battery status isn't recognized correctly under F.45

Very unlucky circumstances. Bios software/updates is a real shame from HP! Very unfortunate that i won't get a solution for this.

My next latop will certainly not be from HP!
