Hi @Saim12

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for explaining the situation—I'm really sorry you're stuck in a BIOS update loop. Based on what you've described and the image you shared, your system is trapped in a firmware update state, likely due to an interrupted or corrupted BIOS flash. Since USB recovery didn’t work and the system shows no fan activity or progress, this points to a non-bootable firmware lock, which is serious but not necessarily fatal.

Let’s walk through a focused recovery strategy:

Step-by-Step Recovery Strategy

1. Confirm USB Recovery Setup

Make sure the USB recovery was prepared correctly:

  • Use a USB 2.0 drive, formatted as FAT32.
  • Download the correct BIOS .exe for your exact model from HP’s support site.
  • Run the .exe on a working PC and choose Create Recovery USB Flash Drive.
  • Insert the USB into the affected system’s rear port (not hub or adapter).

If you manually copied the BIOS file instead of using HP’s tool, the recovery may not trigger.

2. Trigger BIOS Recovery Mode

Try the HP BIOS recovery key combo:

  • Insert the prepared USB.
  • Press and hold Windows key + B, then press and hold the power button for 2–3 seconds.
  • Release the power button but keep holding Windows + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears.

If this doesn’t work, try Windows + V instead. Some HP systems use that combo.

3. Try CMOS Reset (If Accessible)

If your system has a removable CMOS battery:

  • Disconnect power.
  • Remove the CMOS battery for 5–10 minutes.
  • Reinsert and reconnect power.

This can sometimes force the system to reinitialize the BIOS recovery path.

You’re doing everything right by staying patient and trying recovery—I’ll stay with you until it’s resolved.
