This started a few days ago where the Laptop wouldn’t boot up and a blue screen would show with an error message. (Photos included)
Then after this is up for a few seconds, this Black screen would appear and stay on for EVER
I have tried everything I can think of and still nothing has changed. Please advise on what to do next. Thanks

Hi @Kwht48,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP laptop is encountering some serious issues with booting up properly. The blue screen with an error message followed by a black screen is often indicative of a system crash or failure. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem.
- Check the Error Message: If you can capture the error message on the blue screen, it might provide valuable information about what's causing the issue. Common error messages include "KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE," "CRITICAL_PROCESS_DIED," or "SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED." These messages can point towards specific hardware or software problems.
- Boot into Safe Mode: Try booting your laptop into Safe Mode. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and system files, which can help determine if a third-party application or driver is causing the problem. To boot into Safe Mode, restart your laptop and repeatedly press the F8 key or Shift + F8 key during startup until the Advanced Boot Options menu appears. From there, select "Safe Mode" or "Safe Mode with Networking."
- Check Hardware Connections: Ensure that all hardware components, such as RAM sticks and hard drives, are properly connected to your laptop. Sometimes loose connections can cause booting issues.
- Run Hardware Diagnostics: Most HP laptops come with built-in hardware diagnostic tools that can help identify hardware problems. You can access these tools by pressing a specific key during startup, such as F2 or F10. Run a comprehensive diagnostic test to check the health of your hardware components.
- Perform System Restore: If your laptop was working fine before this issue started, you can try restoring it to a previous working state using System Restore. Boot into Safe Mode with Command Prompt (if possible) and type "rstrui.exe" to launch the System Restore wizard.
- Reinstall Windows: If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to reinstall Windows. This will erase all data on your laptop, so make sure to back up important files before proceeding.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

The photo isn’t the best due to the glare but the Stop code is…Stop code: KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
I’m not sure what that means and which system or hardware drive to select to fix this issue. Thanks in advance for your help.
