I have an HP Omen Laptop running windows 10 with an NVIDIA RTX 2060, and Intel I7.
Product Number:
6TK81UA
When I wake the computer from sleep or change windows, I sometimes get a green and black squares on top of but not completely obscuring one of the windows. When I move the window, these squares move with it and disappear a second later. On the web browser, it also disappears when I refresh the page.
Here is a screenshot of the issue https://imgur.com/a/VK2Mu13
It appears when waking the computer from sleep, or when minimizing a window that was in front of it. It occurs with any of the windows on the computer, not just a web browser. It goes away after moving the window, minimizing and reopening the window, or in a browser refreshing the webpage.
I am almost certain it is not the screen that is the problem, I took the screenshot with snipping tools, and not a photo, so a display issue would not have appeared.
This issue has persisted for about 2 weeks. I have tried restarting, updating to most recent Windows 10, running a Malwarebytes scan, updating NVIDIA graphics card drivers (both studio and game-ready). Nothing changed.
I talked with microcenter support, (where I bought the computer), and they recommended to bring it in for a couple of days diagnostic. I can't do that right now since I am taking an online class that has 2 weeks left.
They said re-seating the CPU and GPU might help, though I don't think I can do that easily with a laptop. Also reinstalling windows, which I could do but I would need to make and restore a full backup.
Is there anything else you would recommend trying in the meantime?
