Hi @Shcimble,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding boot-up issues for the HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Power Reset:
- Disconnect all external devices (USBs, external monitors, etc.).
- Turn off the laptop and unplug the power adapter.
- Remove the battery if it's removable.
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to discharge any residual electricity.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, and then try to start the laptop.
Check RAM:
- Try reseating the RAM modules. If you have multiple sticks, try booting with one at a time to see if one of them might be faulty.
- Ensure the RAM is correctly seated in its slot.
Inspect Battery and Power Adapter:
- Make sure the power adapter is working correctly. If possible, test with another compatible adapter.
- If your laptop has a removable battery, check if it is holding a charge properly.
Internal Connections:
- Check internal connections such as the hard drive and SSD to ensure they are securely connected.
- This might require you to open the back panel of the laptop, so proceed with caution.
BIOS Reset:
- If accessible, enter the BIOS settings upon bootup by pressing the designated key (often F10 or ESC).
- Reset BIOS settings to default and save changes.
Check for Error Codes:
- Pay attention to any beep codes or indicator lights, as they can provide insight into what's failing during the boot process.
Hardware Diagnosis:
- If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware failure. Contact HP support for further assistance or consider professional diagnostic services.
I hope this helps.
