Hello Community,
I need your help!
I installed a new battery in my OMEN laptop (15-dh1162) because the old one no longer worked. After that, the computer also restarted and the battery was recognized in Win 11 and the HP software and the battery power was displayed correctly. After a standard Windows update, a new BIOS was also found for installation, which I wanted to install. During the installation, however, the computer got stuck with a black screen and the fans running at full speed... After half an hour, I restarted the computer with the same result.
The screen remains black, although it flickers a little and the fans are running at full speed, but nothing more happens.
After looking at HP support to see how I can repair the BIOS, I found out that I have to press the WIN+v keys with the start key to get any kind of response from the system: CMOS Reset (502) [see picture]
So I prepared a USB BIOS flash drive to restore the BIOS. After turning on the computer while pressing the WIN+v keys, the system message appears and I confirm it with Enter, the system restarts. After the restart, the USB drive's LED is lit permanently, but the BIOS recovery does not start and the screen flickers black again and the fans run at full speed... otherwise nothing happens even after a long wait.
What can I do to restore the BIOS?
Thank you for your support.
