When i open my driver sometimes the camera Driver is there and says its available all updates are up to date but when i open my camera app i get error code 0xA00F4244 no cameras attached despite the camera being built in with no off button. when i run the troubleshooter in the get help section and it says they've been reset its still gone. when i try Hp support assistant it says Application enabling services currently unavailable. closing it doesn't help, restarting doesn't help, all updates have been applied, uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't help. I feel I'm out of options.

@TaylorMcG, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Show Hidden Devices

Open Device Manager

Click View > Show hidden devices

Expand Cameras or Imaging Devices

If you see the camera (even if greyed out), right-click > Enable

Power Reset

Shut down your laptop

Unplug the charger

Hold the power button for 30 seconds

Plug it back in and turn it on

Reinstall Camera Driver (Manual from HP)

Go to: OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck1000 Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

Download and install the camera driver (often Realtek or Sunplus)

Restart your laptop

Also, i suggest you refer to this guide: HP PCs - Troubleshoot the webcam (Windows 11 and Windows 10) | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hey @TaylorMcG,

Thank you for your response

Check if Camera Driver is Installed through "Device Installation Settings"

Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > Advanced System Settings.

Click on the Hardware tab.

Click Device Installation Settings.

Make sure Yes (recommended) is selected.

If it was already on Yes, try switching it to No and then back to Yes. This can sometimes prompt Windows to reinstall the camera driver.

Download the Driver from HP’s Support Page

If you’re still unable to find the camera driver in the Device Manager

Go to the HP Support Page for your model and manually search for the webcam driver.

Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Support

Let me know how it goes.

Take care and have a good day.
