Hi @Jitters04, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your built-in camera on the HP Victus Laptop 15 is no longer detected, even in Device Manager, try the following steps:
Check for a Physical Camera Toggle (if available)
- Some HP laptops have a privacy switch or function key (like F8 or F10) to enable/disable the camera.
- Look for a small sliding switch near the webcam or a keyboard shortcut with a camera icon.
Verify Camera in Device Manager
Since the camera is missing from Device Manager, try:
- Open Device Manager (Win + X → Device Manager).
- Click View → Show hidden devices.
- Expand Imaging devices or Cameras.
- If the camera appears but is greyed out, right-click → Enable.
- If it has a yellow triangle, uninstall it and restart.
Run Windows Troubleshooter
- Settings → Update & Security → Troubleshoot.
- Select Additional troubleshooters → Camera.
- Run the troubleshooter and follow instructions.
Check Windows Privacy Settings
- Settings → Privacy & Security → Camera.
- Ensure "Let apps access your camera" is turned ON.
- Scroll down and check individual app permissions.
Check in BIOS
Your camera may be disabled in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc or F10 to enter BIOS.
- Look under Advanced or Security settings.
- Ensure "Integrated Camera" is Enabled.
- Save and exit.

Reinstall Camera Drivers
Since the camera is undetectable, manually reinstall the drivers:
- Go to HP Support → Download the latest drivers for your Victus 15.
- Look for "HP Camera Driver" and install it.
- Restart your laptop.
Check for Windows Updates
- Settings → Windows Update → Check for updates.
- Install pending updates, especially Optional updates.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Shut down your laptop.
- Disconnect power adapter & remove battery (if removable).
- Hold Power button for 15-30 seconds.
- Reconnect power and turn it on.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
