@Sela111222, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I'm sorry to hear that your camera isn't working. Let's try a few steps to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:
Check if Camera is Disabled (Keyboard Shortcut)
- Press Fn + F6 (or just F6), use this to toggle the camera on/off.
- Look for a camera icon with a slash—if it shows up, the camera is disabled.
Check Camera Privacy Settings
- Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera.
- Make sure Camera access is On.
- Scroll down and ensure apps (like Zoom, Teams, Camera) have access.
Test with the Camera App
- Press Start, search for Camera, and open it.
- If it says “No camera found”, proceed to the next steps.
Check Device Manager
- Press Win + X, choose Device Manager.
- Expand Cameras, Imaging devices, or Sound, video and game controllers.
- If you see your camera:
Right-click and select Update driver > Search automatically.
If already updated, right-click and choose Uninstall device, then restart. - If it's not listed, select Action > Scan for hardware changes.
Check for Disabled Camera in BIOS
Sometimes, the camera is disabled in BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc repeatedly to access the Startup Menu.
- Press F10 to enter BIOS.
- Look for a setting like Integrated Camera and make sure it’s enabled.
- Save and exit.
Check Windows Updates
- Go to Settings > Windows Update, and install any pending updates. Sometimes a patch resolves hardware issues.
HP Camera Driver (OEM Driver)
- Visit the HP Support site for your model.
- Enter your product number: 599K0AV.
- Download and install the latest camera driver under the Driver – Keyboard, Mouse, and Input Devices section.
Try HP Hardware Diagnostics
- Download and install HP PC Hardware Diagnostics for Windows from HP's official site.
- Run a camera test to check for hardware faults.
Optional: Reset the Camera App
- Go to Settings > Apps > Installed apps.
- Find Camera, click the 3-dot menu > Advanced options > Reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
