hp omen 15-dc0805no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

So I bought this laptop a week ago and wanted to plugin a new monitor aswell.

To make it easy I bought another HP Omen product: HP Omen 27 27" capable of going 165hz, 1 ms and with G-sync.

The problem is; it wasn't as easy as I had hoped for... I've managed to make it work with HDMI but only at 59 hz so I wanted to connect the DisplayPort cable. I had to buy a DP-> Mini DP but it isn't working. It can't detect the monitor. I've tried through a Docking-Station with the DP-> DP that followed the monitor. I've installed the drivers for the monitor. Updated the Nvida Drivers.

Nothing seems to work. Even tried to install it with both cables connected. The second I remove the hdmi and change the input on the monitor to DisplayPort input it says i "Input signal not found" and it can find it under "Device Manager" either. But with hdmi it detects excactly what screen it is etc...

So I'm sort of out of ideas.

So I managed to solve it myself... And I actually have no clue how... Might have been a mixture of everything - but not it works 🙂

In the monitors stettings, the Scan Range has to be turned on to allow anything above 144hz.

Have you looked in there yet?

You have to use Display port also.
