HP Victus 15-fb0222nw R5 5600H 16GB RAM 512GB SSD, GTX1650
I'm exhausted - I have been trying to install Windows 11 on my laptop without success.
No matter what changes I made in Bios - still the same line: "a media device driver is missing, this can be either harddisk, dvd, or usb"
All the solutions available are helping those with Intel CPU.
I DESPERATELY need help for a laptop with AMD Ryzen.
The laptop is new, so there are no hardware issues.
I successfully installed Linux on it, but now I have to reinstall Windows on this laptop.
No amount of internet searching is helping me with that issue.
I have a pendrive prepared with Win11 22H2 version on it, but each time I try to install Win - all I get is "a media device driver is missing, this can be either harddisk, dvd, or usb"
I've tried enabled/disabled secureboot
enabled/disabled TPM
None works to solve my issue.
Please - help!

If you made this Win11 install media from something you downloaded from MS, that is a mistake trying to install it.
Because Windows from MS will only install the generic drivers that MS supplies, not the HP custom drivers your laptop needs. Even if the Win11 install comes off OK, the laptop will not be OK because some of the hardware components will not work properly due to the lack of HP drivers.
In addition, the Windows product key embedded into the firmware of the motherboard can only be used to activate an HP OEM version of Windows. If you install anything else, it will not activate using that key and you will have to buy your own retail key.
The best course of action is to install, or reinstall, using a HP OEM version of Windows (see below), and that USB stick might boot and install without any issues.
If your PC is a 2016 model or newer, you should see if you can make a bootable USB recovery drive using the HP cloud recovery tool on a working PC.
The recovery drive can then be used to install Windows and the HP drivers and utilities that originally came with your PC.
You will need a working PC and a 32GB USB stick to hold the recovery files. Here is the link:

You use the Microsoft Store to download the actual tool:

If you use a different PC to run the tool, you will have to provide your PC's product number. Here is an HP link for finding that information:

Here's a video from HP Support about using the Cloud Recovery Tool:

The only working PC I have has Linux installed, so I have to work with that.
I can't use recovery.
I would like to know WHERE can I get the right drivers to my HP Victus, so that the Win installation could work - to not get this line: "a media device driver is missing, this can be either harddisk, dvd, or usb" .
This is the first time ever I have an issue while trying to install Windows on any laptop.
I guess this is the first and last HP I will ever own.
Ps: I also have my dad's HP laptop that I'm supposed to install Windows on, but that one came without any OS (just FreeDos) - same issue. No recovery possible on it.

I don't know about other brands, but if you're going to routinely install Windows on a laptop, then you need to understand the limitations of OEM drivers and OEM licensing. Laptops come preloaded with Windows and are not really intended to have Windows reinstalled on them from other sources.
I advise folks STRONGLY against installing Linux on HP laptops because HP provides no support for Linux, including both installation and drivers, and NOW you have an even worse issue because you usually run HP Support Assistant to connect with the HP product page for your laptop to find and download drivers -- but that will not install or run in Linux.
