Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Laptop: HP Pavilion Gaming

Model: 15-dk0068wm

Were not able to turn on my laptop. Opened it up and found a burnt IC inside.

Saw another with a very similar issue: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Gaming-Notebooks/I-can-not-power-on-my-Laptop/td-p/8422795

What can I do?

After some searching, I were able to find the IC and source it.

This is SY8288RAC by Silergy.

About the marking on the IC, AWS is the product code and the last 3 letters is the lot code.

I hope this could help other people who need to repair their laptops.

hi

your computer is damaged, if you ask the question, it is because you will certainly not be able to repair it yourself
If it is still under warranty, contact the dealer, and/or hp support

if no longer guaranteed, then find a specialist

hi

I do have the ability to rework the board if the PCB is not damaged. But I weren't able to find the replacement IC.

Do you have any idea where I could find this IC?

I bought this laptop brand new in March 2020 and did not expect it to burn in 2.5 years under normal usage. 😐

No No idea, search on the net in specialized shops, may not be easy
