Hello,
This is a small issue I've had for a while but that is now starting to bother me. When my laptop is in charge, it has a tendency to heat up a lot (even while running "light" programs like chrome), CPU heats up to 75°C when idle. Although this is not damaging, I would like to be able to manage the fan speed more precisely to reduce the computer's heat (especially given that one fans usually runs at 3000 RPM while the other sits at 200 RMP).
I have read on many forums that fan speed management can be locked on certain laptops (I have tried using a bunch of programs like Omen gamin, MSI afterburner, FanSpeed etc, but none allow me to modify fan speed or choose a power setting to increase fan speed). I have tried updating the BIOS, but the configuration options are very limited and I can't find how to do something basic like changing the fan speed curve or allow programs to get control of the fan speeds.
I am currently on the latest version of Windows 11, BIOS version is F.16, all my vents are cleared of dust and the computer runs perfectly even when it heats up. All drivers are up to date. I do not remember if I could change fan speeds before switching to Windows 11.

To my knowledge, there is no way to control the fan speed on an HP laptop at all. They built a mechanism which is supposed to control the speed afaik, and don't want customers to change the speed as it can lead to overheating issues.
What I know you can do is to go to "power options" -> "change advanced power settings" -> "processor power management" -> "maximum processor state" and lower it to avoid overheating.
You can also check in safe mode if you are facing the same issue. Here is a link that will help you boot into the safe mode.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. Thanks for bringing this to our notice. From what I have understood, your system is heating even when you run Chrome. We’d hate for you to be stuck with a product, which does not work. I’m going to take care of this for you.
May I know if you use your system on a flat surface? Do you hear any fan noise while using your system?
I would suggest you please use the articles mentioned below and try the steps. Once done, please let me know the outcome of it.

Hello,
Sorry for the delayed response. The software you proposed don't seem to have changed much. My computer doesn't heat to unreasonable levels all the time (mainly when the battery is charging), but I would like nonetheless to have more control on the fan speed when I want.
The vents are clean, the fans are usually always running at least slowly (which doesn't bother me) and I use the computer on a flat surface and even elevate it to give better airflow when it heats up.
I would like to find a way to manually increase fan speeds, or change the default fan curve to keep the fans running a bit faster all the time, but I can't seem to find how.
