Hello,
I have a OMEN by HP Laptop 17-ck0xxx with 118000H @ 2.30Ghz and 16GB of RAM and 512GB SSD.
The power supply unit is MASSIVE, it weighs a ton and will break bones in your feet if you drop it. Can the laptop be charged using a 100W USC-C cable, or something similar to do away with that big monstrosity of a house brick.
Thanks T

Sorry no, 100W is not enough I tested my HP Omen machine with 200W PSU/charger with 120W USB-C charger and it did not charge. Only slowly charge when machine OFF
Regards.

Oh ok thanks, that's not a real good "Omen" if 200w will only charge it slowly when off.
I want to be able to charge it when away camping so i can still do work. But without a USB charging option i would need a costly 12-240v inverter installed, and also cart along the huge big power brick that's like carting around a ball and chain.
It's one of those "If only i knew before i bought it" moments.

Hello @Cockatoos
user @banhien is right, it's not enough.
The Smart AC adapters (power factor correction (PFC), 4.5 mm) has even 330 W !
best regards

Last year I read an articles saying vendors would release 240W USB-C chargers at the end of 2021, but now is nearly July 2022, no more news.
Regards.
