Victus by HP 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-r0000 (76T06AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello everyone, hopefully I finally get some answers through this forum cause honestly, this issue has been driving me insane for the last 7 months.
---------------------------------------------------------

okay, so I'm a HP victus Laptop 16-r0xxx omen with integrated intel graphics and a dedicated Nvidia rtx 4060.

the main problem is this strange and subtle issue that would otherwise go unnoticed if most of the games and programs I use didn't come across it.  Basically, it causes DxD errors and weird unnamed graphical errors, here are some examples of what I mean:

-Capcut = it opens normally but while in a project, the screen is black and won't do anything, buggy audio, no error message.

Dolphin emulator =  many different dxd errors when using direct 11/12, "GetDevicedRemovedReason", no screen load.

Other games like persona 5 or valorant = game just won't launch, with an error message implying not meeting minimum pc requirements when that is clearly not the cause.

Wallpaper engine = strange changes in wallpaper selection, returning to one I used time ago and no longer actively use.

Minecraft = not going past red screen. No error pop up.

roblox studio = can't see anything on the game screen, no error pop up.

most UE5 games= "LowLevelFatalError: Unreal Engine is exiting due to D3D device being lost"

Sometimes there's just no indication that something's wrong other than me realizing some programs suddenly stopped working. And it's so weird because the problem or at least the symptoms are heavily correlated to the integrated graphics rather than the Nvidia ones, because whenever this happens, I simply do a clean install of an older version of the drivers and it does a temporary fix, might last days, a month or two at most, but there are some weirdly specific things like "duplicate screen" when using an external monitor, closing the laptop while on, updating intel drivers, allowing windows 11 to update or just letting some random windows update that will cause the issues to appear again, sometimes even while turned on, making it specially infuriating as. The best solution I've found until now is what I mentioned before, using DDU to fully erase the intel drivers and download the version I know works, which is the intel arc Xe UHD graphics 32.0.101.6078. Any other version of the drivers and it breaks, and before you ask, it all began with the HP OEM Drivers that came with the device itself and are "supposedly" optimized for the laptop. (It happened out of the blue, Laptop had a weird incredibly slow startup and after resetting, it was no longer the same.) I'm honestly tired of dealing with this but I can't find the real cause, the root problem, the oh so magical "cure" that will finally put an end to this constant infuriating mess.

Hi @Tametar,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your laptop!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Update Drivers:

  • Intel Graphics: Make sure you have the latest Intel integrated graphics driver installed. You can download it from the Intel Download Center.
  • Nvidia Graphics: Ensure the Nvidia RTX 4060 driver is up to date. Download and install the latest driver from the Nvidia website.

Switch Preferred Graphics Processor:

  • Open the Nvidia Control Panel.
  • Navigate to 3D Settings > Manage 3D Settings.
  • Under the Global Settings tab, set the Preferred graphics processor to High-performance Nvidia processor.

Check Game/Application Settings:

  • Verify that your games and applications are set to use the Nvidia GPU. You can usually find this option in the application settings or in the Nvidia Control Panel under Program Settings.

Disable/Enable Hardware Acceleration:

  • Some applications have an option for hardware acceleration that can be toggled off/on. Experiment with enabling or disabling hardware acceleration in the application settings to see if it resolves the issue.

Verify DirectX Installation:

  • Ensure you have the latest version of DirectX installed on your system. You can download it from the Microsoft website.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Make sure your Windows operating system is fully up to date. Go to Settings > Update & Security and check for any pending updates.

Run Diagnostic Tools:

  • Use built-in Windows tools like DxDiag to diagnose DirectX issues. You can access this by typing DxDiag into the Windows search bar and running the diagnostic tool.

Reinstall Application:

  • Uninstall and reinstall the applications that are experiencing issues, such as Capcut, to ensure there are no corrupted files causing the problem.

I hope this helps.
