HP Pavilion Gaming 15-ec0002nf
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I recently bought my new laptop, the HP Pavilion 15-ec0002nf with ,writed, 8GB RAM. but when i go to the Windows Task Manager, i saw i have only 5.9GB available, with 2.1GB is : hardware reserved. After investigation, i find it was for my CPU, more specifically the GPU inside my CPU (radeon vega 8).

So my question is : can i reduce it to have more available ram ?

i add screenshots (sorry I'm French so they're in French too)

Thank you.

@eatf,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I reviewed your post and I understand that you want to decrease the dedicated video memory on your computer.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

I recommend you follow the below steps to decrease the video memory.

Restart your PC and press the F10 key repeatedly during the bootup to boot to BIOS.

In the BIOS menu, go to Advanced Features or similar options.

Now click on video/ Graphics settings or VGA Share Memory Size. If you don’t find these options, look for a category with a similar option.

Adjust the option that best suits for your task.

Save the changes and restart your system.

Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!

If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

Cheers!

Hi and thanks a lot for your answer.

I followed your steps but there is no Advanced features or similar options in my BIOS.
I add photos of all my BIOS's options to help you.

I already have the latest version of my BIOS : the F.02 .

Thanks again for your help.20191230_202223404_iOS.JPG20191230_202226257_iOS.JPG20191230_202228475_iOS.JPG20191230_202230127_iOS.JPG20191230_202231912_iOS.JPG

@eatf,

If the option is not available in the BIOS then it is system managed and there is no other option to change it.

I hope that answers your question

Cheers!
