Hi @ALAK233,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Disabling SMT (Simultaneous Multi-Threading) is typically done through the BIOS settings. However, many OEM laptops, including gaming laptops like the HP Victus, often have a locked or limited BIOS with restricted access to advanced settings such as SMT.
Here are a few approaches you could consider:
BIOS Update or Unlock:
- Check if there is a BIOS update available from HP that might unlock advanced settings.
- Some advanced users attempt to unlock the BIOS themselves, but this is risky and can void the warranty or brick the laptop.
OMEN Gaming Hub:
- Currently, the OMEN Gaming Hub does not support disabling SMT directly. However, you could provide feedback to HP suggesting they add this feature in a future update.
Software Solutions:
- Some third-party software tools can manage CPU core affinity and might indirectly help manage SMT by setting process affinities, though they won't disable SMT at the hardware level.
BIOS Modding:
- Modifying the BIOS is another option, but it is highly risky and not recommended unless you are very experienced. It can lead to irreversible damage and loss of warranty.
Alternative Methods:
- If you need to disable SMT for specific applications, you might be able to adjust settings within the applications themselves, depending on what you are trying to achieve.
Unfortunately, without access to advanced BIOS settings, there is no straightforward method to disable SMT on your HP Victus gaming laptop.
I recommend you contact phone support if the above steps do not help.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello, i've also tried to access advanced BIOS option but you can't, as told above, you can only mod it from what i've discovered
Tho, why would you want to turn of Multithread ?
Especially on a AMD architecture where everything is auto regulated and dynamic
