Hi,

I recently bought HP Omen 16 and saw that the Adaptive Battery Optimiser status is showing Enabled/Not Activated. When I contacted the HP Tech support, they told me that my model does not have that particular feature. My model number is Xd0020ax with AMD Ryzen 7 7840Hs, 8GB RTX 4060 (16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD) FHD, 165Hz, 300Nits, IPS, 16.1''/40.9cm, Win11.

Can anyone from HP please help me with the following:

1. Does my laptop support Adaptive Battery Optimizer?

2. If yes, how do I activate it? It is enabled from Bios already.

3. If no, they how do I limit my battery charge to 80% as I mostly use my my laptop plugged in for gaming?

4. What are the long-term consequences of using my laptop plugged in for 95% of time on Battery and other components of the laptop?

Thank You

Hi:

Only some higher end HP business class notebooks support the 80% charge limit feature.

See this link for how to get the most life out of your notebook's battery:

I don't recommend leaving the notebook plugged in 24/7/365 with the battery in a constant 100% charge state as that may lead to battery swelling.
