Does your laptop battery charge only when the laptop is turned off? Click here to view the solution

Does my specific model (15-fb1002AX) support Battery Health Manager or any built-in charge limit?
If yes, how do I enable it? If no, what’s the best workaround?
Has anyone managed to force charge-limit via BIOS update / HP software / other methods?

Hi @Atabul,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP Victus 15-fb1002AX currently does not support the built-in Battery Health Manager (BHM) or charge-limit feature. This function is available mainly on HP business models (EliteBook, ProBook, etc.), not on most Victus laptops.

Check if It’s Available

  • Restart your laptop and press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Look under Advanced or Power for Battery Health Manager / Battery Care / Adaptive Battery Optimizer.
  • If you see Maximize Battery Health (80%), enable it and save.
  • If not listed, your model doesn’t support it.

Check for Updates

  • Open HP Support AssistantMy devices → Updates.
  • Install all BIOS/firmware updates, then recheck BIOS for new battery options.

Workarounds

  • Manual: Unplug at ~80% charge.
  • Software alerts: Use tools like Battery Limiter or BatteryCare.
  • Smart plug: Set to cut power when battery hits 80%.

(Third-party apps are not HP-endorsed—use with caution.)

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
