Error Msg: Smart hard disk check has detected imminent failure

This is for my son's gaming laptop which was purchased 1 year ago. Exactly. He is receiving a Smart hard disk drive error. When  we run the system diagnostic we get a error code which is the following: PSL7MG-9389K8-MFPW2J-60UJ03. Then when we exit the screen It says Boot device not found. Help!

That error means Hard Disk 1 Quick Test Failure. Your hard drive has failed and will need to be replaced.

If your warranty ended exactly one year ago today, I don't know if HP can do anything or not. But I will forward your post to the Moderators and see if an HP rep will contact you.

It might take a day or two for them to respond.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number.
