Solved!

Fan Speeds very low

Hello!

My machine is an OMEN 15 ce026nf, with a core i7 7700HQ and a GTX 1060 6gb, and I've had it for about 1 year and a half.

The temps on the machine were always high, although I didn't worry too much about it since this machine was known to run hot and also since it's a gaming laptop they're usually toasty.

Recently, I've been investigating in getting the fan speeds higher, like running them in 80-100% at all times, so the temperature curve would start off from lower.

While doing this, however, I came across a program called SpeedFan. This is where I realized something. One of my fans was slow. Like *really* slow. (see image).

Just as a reference the idle speeds are usually 60 -70 °C and during any form of gaming the CPU goes in Thermal Throttle and is at a constant 97 °C (max temperature), and the GPU is at 91 °C.

This is why I think that the fan 2 is linked to my CPU and gets virtually no cooling, thus the high temps.

Also, I have cleaned my PC 2 weeks ago and both fans are nice and clean, so that doesn't seem to be the main issue.

Since I've had the laptop for more than a year, the warranty is gone, and I don't know if there's anything I can do to repair this issue.

Any help please?

Best regards,

Angaros

Hello,

I have now done the BIOS update, but the result is still the same.

The one fan is still going about 4500 - 5000 RPM (under load), but the other one only up to 100 RPM (also under load).
I have also noticed, when my I opened my system (physically) that my battery was swollen, but that's a question for another feed.

Should i contact their phone support now?
