Hi, after a recent flight i took where my laptop was safely stored in my cabin bag, it started making a rattling noise. Ive opened it and checked and cant see anything wrong with it, nothing touching it or any bent things etc. What can i do to fix/where to order replacement parts.

Hi @TobiasBenjamin

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

That kind of post-travel surprise—a rattling fan noise despite careful handling—can be incredibly frustrating. Even if nothing appears visibly damaged, internal fan bearings or mounts can shift slightly during transit, especially in ultra-thin designs like the OMEN Transcend 16-u0033no.

Here’s a structured approach to help you resolve the issue and source replacement parts if needed:

Step-by-Step Troubleshooting

1. Confirm Fan Source and Behavior

  • Power on the laptop and listen closely to identify which fan (CPU or GPU) is rattling.
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the fan blades through the vent openings while the system is off.
  • If the noise increases with load or temperature, it’s likely a bearing issue or imbalanced blade.

2. Run HP Diagnostics

  • Restart the laptop → Tap Esc repeatedly → Select F2 for diagnostics
  • Run the System Test → Fan Test
  • If the fan fails or shows abnormal RPMs, it confirms a mechanical fault

You’ve done the right thing by inspecting the internals and isolating the issue. I’m here to assist. Let’s make sure your system runs quietly and confidently again.
