I recently bought a Victus 15 (rx6550m and a ryzen5 7535hs with 16gb of ram) and when I play apparently I have stuttering, many random fps drops and I have good fps but the game seems to go with lag,
I don't know what to do I've already tried everything but nothing works, I need help please

Hi @Sebastián_001,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I’m sorry to hear about the stuttering and FPS drops you’re experiencing while gaming on your Victus 15. It’s definitely frustrating when the performance doesn't match the specs of your system. Let’s work through this and try to find a solution for you.
- Are you experiencing these stutters in all games or just specific ones?
- Have you noticed if the issue happens after a specific period of gaming, or is it random throughout the session?
- Do you see any performance dips in other applications outside of gaming (e.g., system sluggishness or high CPU usage)?
Let's try these steps.
Check for Background Processes:
- Open Task Manager (Ctrl + Shift + Esc) and check if any processes are consuming too many resources while gaming (like system updates, background apps, etc.).
- Close unnecessary applications to free up system resources.
Update Graphics Drivers and System BIOS:
- Visit the HP support website and download the latest drivers for your AMD Radeon RX 6550M and AMD Ryzen 5 7535HS.
- Check for a BIOS update that may improve system performance and stability, especially for gaming.
Adjust Power Settings and Performance Mode:
- Ensure your power settings are set to High Performance in Windows Power Options.
- Go to AMD Radeon Settings and make sure your system is set to High-Performance Mode for gaming.
Disable V-Sync or Enable FPS Limiting:
- Sometimes V-Sync or frame rate caps can cause stuttering. Try disabling V-Sync in the game’s settings or enabling a frame rate cap to stabilize performance.
Monitor Temperature and Throttling:
- Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to track your CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming. High temperatures (above 85-90°C) can cause thermal throttling, leading to stuttering and FPS drops.
- If temperatures are too high, consider adjusting the fan curve, using a cooling pad, or reducing in-game graphical settings.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hello! Thanks for replying, I've already done everything mentioned above, installed and uninstalled AMD Adrenaline, enabled and disabled V-SYNC, always limited my games to 144 fps, updated absolutely everything but nothing works, the stuttering continues and I've even done a component test and everything tells me that it's in good condition, I suspect that the stuttering is due to something in the monitor, I don't understand what's happening but I hope we can resolve it, I'll be waiting for your reply.

I have the same laptop and the same issue. I've tested everything and now I guess the 135w default ac adapter is the issue. Try to use a better adapter like above 150w from other victus laptops and see if it's resolved.

I've just experienced something that might be similar. Are you using an external monitor, or the internal screen?
I have a Victus 15 fb2005na (Ryzen 7-8845HS + nVidia RTX 4050) and I've noticed that connecting my 4k TV to the laptop via HDMI results in horrible, stuttery playback of streaming videos online. After trying lots of things, I *finally* thought that it could be because the internal screen is rendered via the integral graphics adaptor, and the external one (HDMI) comes from the nVidia graphics card. So I disabled the internal graphics adapter, and... PERFECT! The external screen is now flicker-free and super-smooth, but the internal display becomes flickery.
So what I think is happening is that for HDMI, unless the game is forced to use your graphics card, it uses the internal card and then copies the image across to the external graphics adaptor to be sent via HDMI... which is really stupid.
My advice is to disable your internal graphics adaptor then set the Windows display settings to "Second screen only" and see what happens.
Let me know how you get on, and good luck!
-> Disable internal graphics adaptor: press the Windows button, type "Device Manager", scroll down to "Display Adapters", expand it, right-click on the first one (something like AMD Radeon Graphics) and select Disable Device.
-> Set Windows display to "Second screen only": press FN and F1 until it says "Second screen only"
