OMEN 17.3 inch Gaming Laptop PC 17-ck1000 IDS Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Recently purchased an Omen 17 w/ a 3070ti and 128000HX intel processor.  I've started playing a few games and ran some 3D Mark benchmarks and have found that I randomly see the GPU load drop to 1 ro 2% along with the framerates down to 2 or 3 FPS for a few seconds then spike back up to 90-100%.  This happens every 30 seconds or so - it makes gaming unplayable.  I thought it might be related to thermals - the GPU temps look okay but the CPU temps sometimes peak past 90 degrees C.

This happens whether I'm connected to an external monitor with the lid closed or when I'm running the game on the laptop without an external display.  Both times the fans sound like they're a jet engine - really loud.

Anybody have any ideas or anybody experiencing anything similar?  Very frustrating!
