@Nanizz, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Game and Typing Lag Issues on HP Laptops!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

When encountering issues with gaming performance or typing lag on a new HP laptop, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve these problems.

Steps to Troubleshoot Game Performance Issues:

Close Unresponsive Programs: If a game like Valorant is not exiting properly, use Task Manager to forcibly close the game:

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager.
  • Look for the Valorant process, select it, and click "End Task."

Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up-to-date, as outdated drivers can cause performance issues. Visit the manufacturer's website for the latest updates.

Adjust Game Settings: Reduce the in-game graphics settings or resolution. Increasing performance metrics can help with smoother gameplay.

Check for Overheating: Make sure the laptop's vents are not blocked and that it is placed on a flat surface to prevent overheating, which can cause performance throttling.

Run Hardware Diagnostics: Use HP's built-in diagnostic tools to check if there are any hardware issues. You can do this by restarting your laptop and pressing F10 during startup to enter the BIOS, then running the hardware diagnostics from there.

Resolving Typing Lag:

Check for Background Processes: High CPU usage from background applications can cause typing lag. Check Task Manager for high resource usage and close unnecessary applications.

Update System Software and Drivers: Make sure your operating system and all relevant drivers are updated to ensure optimal performance.

Disable Keyboard Enhancements: Sometimes, keyboard enhancement features can cause lag. Check your keyboard settings and disable any unnecessary features.

Check Keyboard Layout: Ensure your keyboard layout in Windows matches the physical layout.

Look for System Updates: Go to Settings > Update & Security and check for any pending updates that might address system performance issues.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
