Microsoft Windows 11

All Games when i open it and play , after short time from the beginning it's crashes fastly and exit to the desktop so fast , this issue happens with all games

i tried to change NVidia control panel settings and updated win11 to latest update and tried all this solution on win10 also i updated the Nvidia card to latest update and also tried older versions from drivers but the same issue exist.
I can not detect what is the issue exactly ! from the power or from the Nvidia card or from CPU Cores.

Hi @zomasec, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Since all games are crashing consistently across both Windows 10 and 11, the issue could be related to hardware instability, power delivery, or driver/software conflicts. Try the following troubleshooting steps:

Check for Hardware Issues

A. Monitor Temperatures

Since you previously faced overheating issues with your OMEN laptop, check if the Victus is overheating. Use HWMonitor or MSI Afterburner to track CPU and GPU temperatures while gaming. If temperatures exceed 85°C, the system might be throttling or crashing to prevent damage.

  • If overheating occurs, repaste the CPU/GPU and improve cooling (external cooling pad, adjusting fan curves).

B. Run a Memory Test

Faulty RAM can cause sudden crashes. Run Windows Memory Diagnostic or MemTest86:

  1. Press Win + R, type mdsched.exe, and press Enter.
  2. Choose Restart now and check for problems.

C. Check for Power Issues

  • Test gaming performance with and without the charger plugged in. If crashes happen only on battery or only when plugged in, the power adapter or battery might be faulty.
  • Use HWInfo64 to check for voltage fluctuations in VRM and battery sensors.

Software & Driver Fixes

A. Disable Windows Game Mode & Background Apps

  1. Go to Settings > Gaming > Game Mode > Turn OFF.
  2. Settings > Privacy > Background Apps > Disable unnecessary apps.

B. Perform a Clean GPU Driver Install

Use Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove old drivers, then install the latest NVIDIA driver.

  1. Boot into Safe Mode and run DDU to remove all GPU drivers.
  2. Restart and install the latest NVIDIA driver from NVIDIA’s website.

C. Change Power Settings & CPU Performance

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings:
    • Power Management Mode: Set to Prefer Maximum Performance
    • Threaded Optimization: On
  2. In Windows Power Plan settings:
    • Set to High Performance
    • Processor power management > Minimum Processor State: Set to 99% (prevents CPU from downclocking).

Test with Different GPU Modes

A. Force Games to Use Dedicated GPU

  1. Open NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings > Program Settings
  2. Add your game and set Preferred Graphics Processor to High-Performance NVIDIA GPU.

B. Disable Integrated GPU (Intel Graphics)

Some crashes happen due to conflicts between the integrated and discrete GPUs.

  • Open Device Manager > Display Adapters
  • Right-click Intel UHD Graphics > Disable Device

Check System Logs for Errors

If games crash instantly without error messages:

  1. Open Event Viewer (Win + X > Event Viewer)
  2. Go to Windows Logs > Application
  3. Look for Critical Errors or Application Crashes related to your games or NVIDIA drivers.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
