Hi, i have an issue with all my games that i play in another resolution than native.

I have two monitors, a external Benq and my notebook's monitor (i play in the Benq monitor).

The problem is: when i open the game in another resolution (my native res is 1920x1080) the game keeps well, but if a go to another program, with the game running and i try to back to the game, the game doesnt open. It's like it can't rescale to resolution and don't open it. The problem is in any game that is not in native resolution.

Sometimes the game open before i minize, but a 95% of times the game don't open.

If someone can help me i would apreciate it.

Thanks and sorry for my english.

@agustincaloggi Is this issue limited to one game or it happens on all games? Does the issue occur when you are in windowed mode? Could you check?

Also, You may have success when you reduced color mode

  1. Right click on the game icon, choose properties.
  2. Then go to the compatibility tab and scroll down, check the box of reduced color mode.
  3. In the dropdown menu below that box, choose 16-color bit.
  4. Then click on apply and try again to play the game.

Apparently the problem has not been solved, today I made alt-tab and the game has not opened.
It happens to me with all the games that are not in native resolution.
And I have not tried to play in windowed mode because the image would not stretch.

@agustincaloggi That's alright, we should be able to get this sorted,

I suggest you create a new user account and check if the games work on it instead, as this could be a corrupt or conflicting user profile,

That said, if the new profile doesn't work either, let's run a test on the device to ensure this isn't a hardware malfunction:

Install the latest version of the HP Hardware diagnostics (UEFI) on your device using this link: Click here for details

  • Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  • Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  • On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  • Click Extensive Test.
  • Click Run once, or Loop until error.
  • While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component display on the screen.

If a component fails a test, write down the failure ID (24-digit code) for when you respond back to us.
