Hi, I have an HP laptop with the Ryzen 9 365 AI processor and Radeon 880M integrated graphics. HP Support Assistant only provides early‑2025 drivers, and the system blocks installation of newer AMD drivers due to OEM signature restrictions.

Because of the outdated GPU drivers, I’m experiencing major issues in modern games and apps, including missing textures, invisible cars/maps in Forza, and instability in DirectX 12 workloads.

I’m requesting help with one of the following:

  1. A newer HP‑validated Radeon 880M driver package

  2. Instructions to remove the OEM driver lock so I can install current AMD drivers without rollback

  3. Updated chipset/NPU drivers if available

My hardware is fully capable of running the newer AMD driver sets, but HP’s locked drivers are causing severe performance and compatibility problems.

Any assistance or escalation would be appreciated.

Thanks.

If it is not the version I posted, then the driver did not install.

Since the driver didn't install, try running the driver setup application within the graphics driver folder that was extracted when you ran the file.

The only setup application I saw in the driver folder is the HPUP application.

If running that application didn't do anything either, try manually updating the driver from the device manager.

In the device manager, click on the AMD Radeon graphics driver.

Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update driver.

Select the 'Browse my computer for drivers' option and browse to the driver folder that was created when you ran the file.

That folder will be located in C:\SWSetup\sp173210.

Make sure that the Include subfolders box is checked and see if the driver will update that way.

If so, after the driver installs, restart the PC.

i tried that and it instanly said windows has determined that the best drivers for my pc have already been installed while my task manager is still on the old one

Then unfortunately, that isn't the correct driver for your PC.

What's the full model number or product number of your PC?

The support page indicates that your notebook has the latest driver AMD released to HP.

32.0.12010.100

I'm surprised that HP has not released an updated driver for your notebook comparable to the one I posted.

Since manually installing the driver I posted didn't work, unfortunately I don't have any other suggestions for you to try.
