HP Pavilion Gaming Laptop - 16-a0032dx

Normally when I open my laptop, both my laptop screen and my secondary monitor light up. My monitor did not, just a black screen, but the LED power button was lit that it was on and connected. My laptop recognizes that there's an HDMI connection, but I get no display or sound to my secondary monitor. I've optimized my laptop twice, updates drivers (even NVIDIA), and run all the diagnostics that I can. The secondary monitor did light up for a split second and showed my wallpaper, but then went black again and still had no sound.

Is this an issue with my HDMI port in my laptop itself? The laptop itself is the HP Pavilion 16.1" gaming laptop, which I bought in February of 2021. A bit of a cautionary tale to always purchase the extra warranty. /facepalm.

Edit to add: I've figured it out and fixed the issue myself and it's now working again!

Your setup is not right. Please use the following Guide

All due respect, my set up is, and has always been, right. I've been using dual monitors, including using my laptop, for most of my life. This isn't a very helpful response, but I've already solved my issue and got my display to work again on my own.
