Hello.
I'm using a 2015 model HP Omen, running Win10 64-bit with fully updated everything.
The laptop has been suffering major software issues related to fan control, keyboard lights and keybindings. (Basically eveything HP Omen Control)
My current concern is the CPU fan on the left side. It's constantly on. I flicked through the BIOS options and downgraded to many versions, but unfortunately still no fix.
I noticed that whenever I turn the laptop on, it's fine for 30 minutes or so. But after a while the fan starts ramping up speed and slowing down as if the temperature is sitting right on the threshold, and after that it stays on. Restarting and going in and out of sleep-mode don't seem to affect it at all.
I have uploaded 2 screenshots from Windows Event Viewer:
Security Warning message
JSON exception
These are all the same message repeated again and again, both thrown by "HP Active Health". You'll notice the crazy amount of errors each day, and the ~5-10 second correlation between the first and the second type of warnings. (they come in pairs)
Should I be worried?

Hello @KhaledF,
I appreciate you coming to the HP Forums for assistance!
I read your post and understand that the fan in your HP Omen is operating constantly after the notebook has been on for at-least 30 minutes. When the fan is operating like that it usually means the notebook is too hot, but it could also be related to driver issues.
Please start with a hard reset. Once the notebook is back on, follow the steps in these documents that will help you resolve the issue with the fan operating constantly.
1. HP Notebook PCs - Fan is Noisy and Spins Constantly, PC is Warmer than Normal
2. HP Notebook PCs - Reducing Heat Inside the PC to Prevent Overheating
3. HP PCs - Increasing System Performance and Maintaining Your Computer (Windows 10)
I hope to see the results of the troubleshooting.

Hello @FlashRam1714
Thank you for the detailed reply.
I'm 99% sure this isn't an over-heating issue. As I write this message, the troublesome fan is dead silent and the CPU is idling around ~40 C degrees. RealTemp screenshot for reference.
I'm postive that when the CPU fan acts out, the keyboard and the left side of the laptop feel just as cool. In addition, everytime it happened I had RealTemp open and I could see the temperatures idling around the same range and even lower when I used a cooling pad. A few hours ago I had Fallout 4 running on high settings and both fans behaved correctly. In my opinion heat isn't the issue here, and neither are the sensor readings.
Edit: I neglected to mention that the problem presents itself intermittently. Some days it hits all the time and some days only for a few hours.

Hello @KhaledF,
Did you perform any of the steps from the third document about increasing the system performance?
You can also try testing for hardware failures and performing windows updates.

The product number of this specific laptop is: K2V86EA#ABU
Full model name: HP OMEN Notebook 15-5000na
Regarding system performance, I practise most of these steps anyway. (closing down as much apps as possible, regular MalwareBytes & ESET Nod32 updates and scans, vetting processes by signature through ProcessExplorer, etc.)
Also, I ran all the short and medium-length tests in the HP Hardware Diagnostics screen (UEFI one) and the results are all optimal, zero faults.
In addition, I made sure the power management profile is on PowerSaver and I limited the processor's maximum load to 80%. Fan cooling policy is set to Passive, and I don't think an Active cooling policy would help in this situation.

Hello @KhaledF
Thank you for the quick reply!
The next steps would be to restore the BIOS and then boot into safe mode to begin narrowing down to the fault.

If the issue persists, boot into safe mode.
Microsoft - Start your PC in safe mode in Windows 10
If this does not exist while in safe mode, perform a clean boot.

As I mentioned in the first post, I tried downgrading the BIOS to older versions but it didn't help.
Could you recommend a stable BIOS version? current version is F.23 (23-Mar-15).
Regarding safe mode, I'll boot into safe mode the next time it happens and I'll report back the results.
I appreciate the help! 🙂

Hello @KhaledF,
It is best to restore the BIOS rather than downgrading. After restoration is complete, perform Windows updates which will find the most up to date version.
Okay, I'm curious about the results.

Hello,
Sorry for the late reply. The issue appeared a few minutes ago and I immediately logged into Safe Mode.
The CPU fan didn't drop a beat.. it kept going pretty hard before safe mode, while in it and after logging out.
Regarding resetting the BIOS, how do I reset it? I assume there's an old, stable version somewhere on the recovery partition?

Hello @KhaledF,
Did the notebook have the same issues when Windows 8.1 was the operating system being used?
You can restore the BIOS by following the directions in the "Restoring the BIOS" document:
