Just purchased HP Omen 17 cb0002na gaming laptop, I updated all the drivers and windows update, so Windows 10 is at version 1909 now, but noticed that the audio was constantly lagging behind the video by about 500ms - 1s, when the sound came out via the laptop speakers or headphones. This applied to any source of sound, whether it be system sounds, youtube, or games like CS:GO. This is not the same issue as previously discussed where the initial sound takes 3 seconds to come out due to power settings with can be worked around via a registry hack (which I have done). This does not occur when audio comes out via the HDMI port.
I also attempted another suggestion I've seen somewhere of changing the drivers for the Realtek device to the Microsoft High Def Audio, but that didn't work because with that driver, the laptop thought there were no audio devices present on the system.
After mucking about I thought why not uncheck the "Allow enhancements" box in the device properties for the Realtek High def audio, in the sound control panel, and that seemed to do the trick. I don't know if this issue would have remained on older versions of Windows 10, as I didn't test the audio until I fully updated windows first, wonder if anyone else has had similar issues?

@dadabhai
Thank you for posting on HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:
Firstly, perform Windows Update and HP Support Assistant: ( do not skip any troubleshooting steps if you feel steps are repeating )
To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.
Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.
- To open HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon
.
- Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
- Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
- Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
- Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
- Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Use the troubleshooting tool in Windows:
The audio troubleshooting tool in Windows can automatically fix common audio recording and audio playback problems with your computer. Run the troubleshooting tool using the following steps:
- In Windows, type find and fix audio into Search, or right-click the speaker icon
in the taskbar and select Troubleshoot sound problems.
- Select Find and fix audio playback problems or Find and fix audio recording problems from the Search results.
- Click Next.
- Select the device you want to troubleshoot and click Next.
- Wait while the troubleshooter detects problems and makes changes (or prompts you to make changes).
- When the troubleshooter is done, the Troubleshooting has completed page is displayed, listing any problems found and what changes were made to the computer.
- Click Close.
- If a recommended action is displayed, select Apply this fix.
Restoring the audio driver in HP Recovery Manager:
- In Windows, search for and open Recovery Manager.
- Click Reinstall drivers and/or applications.
- Select the audio driver in the list, and then click Install.
- Wait for the driver to reinstall. When the installation is complete, click OK.
- Close HP Recovery Manager and then restart your computer.
- Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after reinstalling the driver, try updating the driver using Device Manager.
Updating the audio driver using Device Manager:
Make sure the audio device is enabled and then update the audio driver using Device Manager as follows:
- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
- If a sound device is listed with a down arrow, the device is disabled. Right-click the sound device name and select Enable to re-enable the device.
- With the sound device enabled, right-click the sound device and select Update Driver Software.
- Click Search automatically for updated driver software.
- Windows checks for and installs any updated drivers found. The window displays whether the computer already has the latest available driver or if Windows was able to successfully update the audio driver.
- If a window opens asking you to restart the computer, restart the computer.
- Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after updating the driver, continue to the next step.
If you completed these steps and the latest driver was already installed, use the following steps to uninstall and then reinstall the driver:
- In Windows, search for and open Device Manager.
- Double-click Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click the sound device and select Uninstall.
- Restart the computer to reinstall the driver.
- Test for sound. If the audio problem persists after reinstalling the driver, continue to the next step.

Yes I had tried all of that and it made no difference. As mentioned in my first post, I had found a workaround by unchecking this option in the attached screenshot, although I don't know what other effect that has.

@dadabhai
Thank you for posting back.
I am glad to know that you managed to resolve the issue. And that's the only audio enhancement options available which allow an audio device to output.
Please reach out again for any further assistance.
Have a nice day ahead.

I had the same problem and support was of no help, lost a lot of time trying & reinstalling sound drivers. Latest bios update f22 seems to fix this problem but HP support assistant doesn't install it automatically, my bios was f16 and all updates were automatic on my computer so I supposed it was also installed.
