HP OMEN 17-cb0030nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello ! Could you help me ? I want to buy HP OMEN 17-cb0030nr (I7-9750h and RTX 2060 ) and I want to know whether the screen is 60hz or 144hz and does it have G-Sync or not ?

https://www.amazon.com/HP-17-Inch-i7-9750H-Processor-17-cb0030nr

Please I want this information from people who have already purchased the item as various stores have contradictory information about having 144z and G-Sync or not.

I want to make sure of its thermal and overall performance so do you recommend me this product or not and what are the key pros. and cons. ?

@silently4

I see what you mean. I would say the Amazon Ad has it wrong. It wont be the first time Amazon had the wrong specs.

I wont get into an argument over whos fault it is as I don't have any control over that.

In the mean time while you wait for someone who has purchased that model number, Ill give you a heads up on what HP says the specs show.

With HP specs, when a document shows that is has FHD IPS anti-glare micro-edge WLED (1920 x 1080) without any other info, that means its a standard 60Hz panel which doesn't have Gsync enabled.

Thank you @photoray

I want to know also the thermal management efficiency as I personally know a person having 15-dc1002ne (I7-8750H & RTX 2060 ) and he encounters cpu 97c while gaming ! Is this normal or what ?

and can 17 inch 2019 laptops have better cooling systems than 15 inch ?

Ive had a 17 inch Omen in the past and did not have cooling issues, but I have not had the fortune of having both sizes together to measure the heat sinks.  97c is not normal, but I question how your friend is determining that temp. Open the Command Center and if its showing 97c (during gaming?) then yes Its not normal for me, although some say they just run that hot.  Ive seen two of the same spec'd models that run at different temps. One will over heat, the other wont.

I would advise you to test your laptop immediately and see how it reacts. If you are not happy with it, either contact HP Support or simply return it for a refund. They are warrantied.

Yes, he had the temp feedback from Omen Command center.It isn't normal on long run as the thermal paste will evaporate and degrade gradually as well as high temperatures are harmful for both the CPU and GPU. I hope Omen has good thermal management for the 17 inch I7-9750h RTX 2060 that I will buy unless someone advises me not to buy it for its bad thermals. Thanks.

The problem is that there will always be some anonymous person who will tell you not to do something. But one persons experience doesn't mean that will be the next persons. Ergo why I mentioned to test it right away as you will have a warranty if not satisfied. Stores like your Amazon link and Best Buy have a return policy also.

Its up to you. Good luck. 😉
