HP 15-dc1061tx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have this laptop but most of the time I am facing game lag. I have tested on FurMark lag is also there. When FurMark runs smooth game also run smooth when FurMark shows lag Game also shows lag.

MY Setup - Windows 10 Pro - 64 Bit - 21H1 (latest release)

Hp Omen 15 Gtx-1650 - CPU Ci7 9750H - RAM 16GB ; LCD ASUS PB258Q 2k 2560x1440 60Hz.

I am using HDMI Cable from my Laptop to LCD for the connectivity.
When I Play game on Laptop LCD it works fine but when I use External display most of the time games start to lag. What could be the issue? Even right now I am writing this post, if I use Laptop LCD it works fine if I use external display i feel lag. CPU / GPU Temps are 48/41 c right now. I am feeling like there could be a problem with GPU or there could be a problem with HDMI Cable.

Update:

Now I have figured out the problem now looking for its solution and reason why it happens. The problem is with the GPU Speed. It is GTX 1650 in Normal condition its GPU Clock speed shows 1395Mhz and Memory Clock at 2000.50 Mhz(figures from GPU-Z > Sensors). But when it slows down I have seen a major drop in clock speeds. it become 395Mhz for GPU clock and 300 Mhz for Memory Clock. I have restarted the system and the GPU become normal. Now I have to dig out its reason and solution for it.

Hi@Shazcom, Welcome to HP Community!

Let's start with performing a hard reset on the PC to release any excessive static/power that could have caused the issue.

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect all external connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
  • Unplug the AC adapter from the computer.
  • Press and hold down the Power button for about 15 seconds to drain any residual electrical charge from the capacitors that protect the memory.
  • Press the Power button to turn on the computer.
  • If a startup menu opens, use the arrow keys to select Start Windows Normally, and then press the Enter key.

Second, you can check if there is Bios update available for your PC, here is the link to download.

Performing a test on the Hard drive as well as on the Memory from the Hardware diagnostics:

  1. Hold the power button for at least five seconds to turn off the computer.
  2. Turn on the computer and immediately press Esc repeatedly, about once every second. When the menu appears, press the F2 key.
  3. On the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (UEFI) main menu, click System Tests.
  4. Click Extensive Test.
  5. Click Run once, or Loop until error.
While the test is running, the time remaining and test result for each component are shown on the screen. The test can take 2 or more hours to complete.

Tried Adding the game to High performances in the Nivida control panel?

Download GEFORCE EXPERIENCE updates the gaming drivers.

Turn on Game Mode. Game Mode is a new feature in Windows 10 Update that improves gaming performance by limiting background processes and programs from using system resources while a game is running.

Press the Windows key and G to open the Game bar.

In the game bar, click Settings.

Click the check box next to the game title to enable Game Mode for that game.

Plug notebook PCs into an AC adapter to give the graphics card more power

   NOTE:

If the diagnostics are not available when using the F2 menu, run the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics from a USB drive. To download the latest version of the diagnostics, go to the HP Hardware Diagnostics website. For instructions, see Testing from an external USB device.

The best way to resolve the issue is by using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:

CLICK HERE FOR STEP BY STEP GUIDE (Scroll to the bottom for more options)

(simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
